I have international experience working as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in both the UK and Australia with a specialty in mental health. My mental health career began within forensic services and I eventually transitioned into community adult mental health as well as completing in-reach work to psychiatric inpatient services. From these roles I have also coordinated group programmes, set-up community health programmes and also case managed consumers that have complex needs and require support in order to remain well within the community. I have also worked with dual diagnosis services and from here this has led me to engaging with consumers residing within residential rehabilitation units and have also consolidated all of these past experiences to deliver a private OT practice. I have currently ceased my private practice as I was beginning to miss being part of a larger team and system. Subsequently, I returned to public health and worked for a primary mental health team and have now returned to long-term community case management for a major metropolitan hospital. I am also in the process of studying towards my Master of Clinical Counselling.
Outside of work, my interests are fitness, cooking (especially baking), hiking, trying out good coffee as well as discovering local cafes. I enjoy reading and creative writing plus I’ll never say no to an exhibition, public talk or book fare.
